Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. "Beginners Luck"
The Patio at the La Veta Inn is a magical place. My Wife and I operated the Inn from 2005 until the fall of 2010 and it never ceased to amaze me how much our guests appreciated the ambiance as they dined on warm summer evenings. In 2007, I convinced myself to by some canvas and some acrylic paints. I completed this piece in a single afternoon using an old credit card to lay on 100% of the paint. This painting hung on the dining room wall for several years and it was always quite the conversation piece. I've not stopped painting since, but I have yet to go back and use that technique again.
